Kathy Brown has used her premiere fabric collection with Red Rooster to create this fat-quarter-friendly quilt! Two types of units – four-patch and half-square-triangle – are used to form the butterflies in each of the blocks. The simple frames around each block contain a corner square that serves to continue the diagonal chains that run throughout the quilt design. Multiple fat quarters are used to make this quilt which adds to its "scrappy" appeal!
Basic cutting and sewing techniques are all that's needed to make this quilt! If you are a beginner or simply don't have much time, this quilt would look just as terrific tied as it would quilted. You could use multiple colors of perle cotton to form your ties since such a large variety of fabrics are used in the piecing. If you prefer to quilt your project then either hand or machine quilting would be appropriate. Just have fun!
